Reading Text – Daniel 4
After King Nebuchadnezzar’s experience of seeing the power of the one true God in the fire, he makes a proclamation to the people about the greatness of God and His everlasting kingdom. Interestingly, God revealed that truth to him in an earlier dream, but he didn’t heed it until he saw the Jewish captives walking in fire.
Remember, sometimes your fire is for the proof of God in another person’s life. Now he has another dream and remembering the interpretation by Daniel, he includes in the proclamation that Daniel has the spirit of the Holy God (Daniel 4:8). Are you like Daniel? The answer is yes if you are a believer. The spirit of the holy God is living inside of you too. God has anointed you to represent heaven on earth. Where does God want to use you to influence your current-day Babylon with His truths?
God is in charge no matter what is happening. His kingdom is the rule and reign of King Jesus.
God is in charge no matter what is happening. His kingdom is the rule and reign of King Jesus. Just like we see again in verse 18, King Nebuchadnezzar recognized that the Holy God was in Daniel, so he sought to know what the dream meant. Here is a man who had relied upon magicians, astrologers, soothsayers, and the wise Chaldeans for understanding the truth for years. Until one day, a young Jewish man was used to reveal truths that these other men could not – because he knew his God. I doubt Daniel was an extremist, but a rather methodical person, following commands and obeying His God. But God used him to reveal the one true God to an entire culture (as evidenced by the king’s proclamation).
Is it possible that God is using you to be that influence in a corrupt society? You don’t have to scream and shout – you just have to be surrendered to Him – like Daniel.
Take a moment to read Ephesians 1:15-23. Now, pray those verses over yourself, inserting your name where appropriate so that the eyes of your understanding will be opened to see how God wants to use you to bring forth His dominion on earth. The only way God’s kingdom will be manifested on earth is through people – just like you and me.
