Reading Text – Ephesians 2:10-22
Ephesians 2:10 tells us, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”
Paul outlines what success is – which is coming in alignment with who God says we are. The world tries to define who we are through media, through influencers, and through propaganda. Sometimes we try to define ourselves by comparing ourselves to someone else or to our own expectation of who we think we should be. If we base our identity on these outlets, we will never be truly successful in our God-given calling. When we discover who God created us to be and walk in that identity, then we are successful.
God’s will for us is to live a fruitful life with Him because He loves us. Jeremiah 29:11 is a familiar verse to many, but let’s take a moment and meditate on it again: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all of your heart.
Jeremiah 33:3 tells us, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
Proverbs 16:9 tells us, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs His steps.”
In these verses we see that God as the creator designed you for a special purpose, and only within the context of His will and purpose can you accomplish it and be truly satisfied.
In these verses we see that God as the creator designed you for a special purpose, and only within the context of His will and purpose can you accomplish it and be truly satisfied. When you understand this, you can start to come in full alignment with who God says you are.
Genesis 1:26-28 says, “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So, God created mankind in His own image; in the image of God He created them. Then, God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’” This is everyone’s God-created purpose.
Once you realize that you are designed by God to be fruitful in your personal life, then multiply that authority in your family, you will be able to fill the earth by cooperating as the church who is advancing the Kingdom, so that God’s rule and reign has dominion in every realm.
In this, we can only cooperate with our purpose as we have the revelation of God’s love and our identity in Him.
Take a moment to pray and ask God to give you greater revelation of His love and purpose for you.
Father, Thank You for giving me a purpose to advance Your kingdom here on earth. Thank You that Your desire for me is to be successful and to live a fruitful life. Today, I pray for a fresh revelation of Your love for me and Your perfect will and purpose in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
